UEM Sunrise Brings Ramadan Cheer To Community In Gelang Patah

NUSAJAYA, Tuesday, 23 July 2013 UEM Sunrise Berhad (‘UEM Sunrise’) – formerly known as UEM Land Holdings Berhad the master developer of Nusajaya, one of the key nodes of Iskandar Malaysia, successfully organised its 2013 Ramadan event by presenting ‘duit raya’ and Raya goodies to the less fortunate local communities in Gelang Patah at The Ledang Urban Retreat Club House, today.

The tradition that was initiated since 2007, aimed to help ease the burden of single mothers, the disabled as well as senior citizens from several villages around Gelang Patah. A total of 180 less fortunate were exclusively invited to the ‘Majlis Penyampaian Sumbangan Aidilfitri’ to receive their ‘Duit Raya’ and Raya goodies amounting to RM300 per person.

Additionally, in a separate event later in the evening, 60 orphans from Gelang Patah together with the members of Johor media participated in the break-fasting event. During the event, the presentations of ‘Duit Raya’ to the orphans were also made within a warm family atmosphere to bring happiness and joy for them for the upcoming during this festive period.

“Ramadan is a month to spread care and affections all around us. UEM Sunrise for instance has always cared for the local community’s welfare and this is made apparent through the various corporate responsibility programmes that we have planned and executed in this month and throughout the year,” said Encik Mohd Nadzari Haji Bachek, Senior General Manager, Nusajaya, UEM Sunrise Berhad.

Also present at the event was Nusajaya State Assemblyman, Dr Haji Zaini Haji Abu Bakar whom delivered his speech followed with presentation of goodies as well as ‘Duit Raya’, along with Senior General Manager of Nusajaya, UEM Sunrise Berhad, Encik Mohd Nadzari Haji Bachek, to the eligible Gelang Patah community members.
