UEM Sunrise Collaborates with Popular Content Creator and Entertainer Harvinth Skin in the #MustCariOng-themed Chinese New Year Campaign

KUALA LUMPUR, 17 February 2021 – UEM Sunrise Berhad (“UEM Sunrise” or the “Company”), one of Malaysia’s leading property developers, has partnered with popular local content creator and funny man Harvinth Skin for the #MustCariOng Chinese New Year marketing campaign.

 

Harvinth was featured in the Company’s two-part festive video as a Feng Shui Master – Master See Beh Huat. The “#1 Indian Feng Shui Master” highlighted a variety of UEM Sunrise’s flagship properties along with their unique features whilst sharing some of his pearls of wisdom on how everyone can find prosperity or ‘ong’ and happiness in the coming Year of the Ox with a touch of his comedic flair. 

 

In line with the #MustCariOng digital marketing campaign, the video aims to spark optimism and festive cheer during the ongoing Movement Control Order to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, with a healthy dose of self-depreciating humour. With references to the extended MCO, the campaign injects light-heartedness and zeal in the current circumstances.

 

The two videos were released on February 3 and 8 respectively on Harvinth’s Facebook page which boasts more than 240,000 followers and have already reached accumulated organic views of 494,300.

 

UEM Sunrise Chief Marketing Officer Kenny Wong said that Harvinth Skin’s bold and edgy personality, as well as his natural comedic chops made him an obvious choice in fitting in with the Company’s vibrant tagline “Find Your Happy”.

 

“We were looking for a personality who is instinctively funny and has an engaging connection with his following. We were impressed with one of his previous videos where he jokingly crowdfunds for a pair of expensive sneakers but turned out to use the raised money to buy shoes for children in a welfare home. To us, that speaks of genuine kindness and care, values which our brand and Company stand for.

 

“Most importantly, as in previous years, we wanted a festive video that was not the run-of-the-mill Chinese New Year variety. We saw that the concept of ‘Master See Beh Huat’ was one that could bring some lightness and humour during this restrictive and gloomy Movement Control Order period, in line with the fun-loving element within the C.H.I.E.F. (Caring, Honest, Involved, Enthusiastic, Fun-Loving) values that drive UEM Sunrise and its staff,” said Wong.

 

UEM Sunrise approached Harvinth earlier this month, who subsequently created several concept proposals. Upon approval of the concept, his team shot the video in just one day against a green screen backdrop with the MCO restrictions and SOPs in mind and finally published the video just three days later.

 

The #MustCariOng Chinese New Year campaign promises stress-free benefits, rebates, and lucky draw goodies worth up to RM38,888 for homebuyers. Homebuyers will stand a chance to win attractive prizes, including a Thermomix TM6, an iPhone 12, or angpow rebates worth up to RM38,888 off their next UEM Sunrise home purchase in a Chinese New Year lucky draw, upon signing the Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) before March 31.
