UEM Sunrise Hosted Malaysia’s Largest Jazz Festival – Publika Jazz Festival 2017 To Celebrate The Sixth Anniversary Of Publika

Publika, a creative retail subsidiary of UEM Sunrise Berhad (“UEM Sunrise” or the “Company”) in Solaris Dutamas, Kuala Lumpur hosted its sixth annual Publika Jazz Festival 2017 which has grown over the years into a major event spreading over four different venues within Publika (The Square, Black Box, The Bee and The Social).

The event is acknowledged as the largest free indoor and outdoor jazz festival in Malaysia with over 120 musicians and has a strong reputation for showcasing different genres of jazz from all eras performed by established artists as well as upcoming musicians.

Taking place over two days on 25 and 26 August, Publika Jazz Festival 2017 continued the tradition of showcasing both local and international performances ranging from established musicians to upcoming talents developing the local jazz music industry.

Publika Jazz Festival 2017 garnered more than 8,000 music lovers in its audience with this year’s lineup including NewSound, Fazz, Barry Likumahuwa (Indonesia), Shock and Awe! (United States of America, Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia), Muhammad Nazrin, Travis Tan Experiment, Diandra Arjunaidi, New Village Music Lab feat. Rozz, Ryot Jones, Havana Jazz Tumbao (Cuba), Carpio Brothers (Australia, HK), Dani, Bro’s and PhunkMob.

Publika Jazz Festival 2017 is part of the many initiatives presented to the communities by UEM Sunrise and Publika. UEM Sunrise prides itself to be a creative placemaker. It is illustrated in its multi-faceted approach to the planning, design and management of public spaces to promote people’s health, happiness and well-being within the Company’s built environment and its surrounding.
