UEM Sunrise Berhad (“UEM Sunrise” or the “Company”) one of Malaysia’s leading property developers through its corporate social responsibility initiative has successfully organised the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (“SPM”) Examination Seminar, which was attended by 260 students from four UEM Sunrise’s PINTAR Adopted Secondary Schools, at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai, Johor.
The two-day seminar in collaboration with Berita Harian was aimed at boosting the student’s confidence and help them answer and score on the exam questions effectively by giving them exposure on the accurate learning methods and techniques.
Focusing on the four core subjects; Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mathematics and History, the facilitators of the seminar shared valuable tips with the students on answering questions using the correct formulas and formats and also insights on the marking and grading system for each subject.
The students, who participated in the SPM Examination Seminar, were from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Gelang Patah; Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Nusa Jaya; Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tanjung Adang; and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar, all located in Gelang Patah, Johor. The SPM Examination Clinic will be held later in September this year.
UEM Sunrise’s Head of Corporate Communication, Nik Surina Suria Nik Abdullah said, “As a caring and responsible corporate citizen, UEM Sunrise has the responsibility not only to its employees, customers and investors, but also to the various communities in which the Company operates.
“Our Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) policy is focused on Education Enhancement and Community Development. In line with the Education Enhancement policy, we conduct educational programmes such as this to inspire our PINTAR students,” she said.
Introduced in 2008 and now on its ninth year of implementation, the UEM Sunrise’s SPM Examination Seminar has been recognised as one of the educational support programmes that inspired the PINTAR students to become architects of their own future.
“In implementing the Education Enhancement programmes, we are guided by the four core modules set by PINTAR Foundation to encourage young generation to become responsible citizens by Promoting Intelligence, Nurturing Talent and Advocating Responsibility,” Nik Surina added.
