UEM Sunrise Staff Got-Together To Embrace The New Brand Identity

Kuala Lumpur, 17 June 2013 – An approximate 1,300 staff of UEM Sunrise Berhad – formerly known as UEM Land Holdings Berhad (“UEM Sunrise” or “Company”) got-together on 15 June 2013 at The Zone, Johor Bahru to celebrate the official launch of its new brand identity and name change from UEM Land Holdings Berhad to UEM Sunrise Berhad.

The UEM Sunrise brand encapsulates both UEM Land and Sunrise heritage and expertise which reflect a stronger, refreshed and unified entity that aspires on delivering value to its shareholders, customers and employees by focusing on customer service, innovation and re-engineering.

The evening at The Zone, marked another milestone of UEM Sunrise in the history of the Company.

The launch dinner was attended by the Chairman of UEM Sunrise, YBhg. Tan Sri Dr. Ahmad Tajuddin Ali and senior management staff of UEM Sunrise. Also present were YBhg. Dato’ Wan Abdullah Wan Ibrahim, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer; Encik Azhar Othman, Chief Financial Officer; Mr. Lum Tuck Ming, Chief Operating Officer; Puan Siti Mariam Mohd Desa, Chief Marketing Officer; Encik Mohd Zakir Omar, Director of Business Development; and Encik Mohd Auzir Mohd Tahir, Chief Executive Officer of Cahaya Jauhar, a subsidiary of UEM Sunrise.

“I am extremely excited to be able to share with each and every one of you the fruits of our labour. I am proud to announce that with effect from 13 June 2013 following the concurrence of shareholders at the 5th AGM, our company is now known as UEM Sunrise Berhad. As UEM Sunrise we will forge ahead as one entity, strong and united in our vision, benefiting from a more diversified product portfolio, an enlarged land bank, and a stellar track record, well-positioned to grow in Malaysia and key markets” said Dato’ Wan Abdullah Wan Ibrahim in his welcoming speech.

That evening also witnessed the presentation of a cheque amounting RM1,000.00 to one of the company’s staff, Encik Sofiansani bin Baharun Zaini, for winning the “Our Identity Contest”. The winning title “The Titans” – received the highest vote against six other shortlisted names.

“In life, change is inevitable. I have found that in life, more than 90% of change we experienced, lead us to progress. Thus, I would like to urge everyone to embrace this change and take the steps for the betterment of the Company and ourselves” added Dato’ Wan Abdullah at the end of his speech.

During the launch dinner, all staff was mesmerised with the various evergreen songs and dazzling performance by Malaysia’s renowned artist, Amy ‘Search’.
