UEM Sunrise gets first approval for residential project in Perth, Western Australia

Planned over a 0.49ha site, this mixed-use residential project marks the first approval within the Subiaco East Masterplan, set to supporting local housing supply needs while embracing innovative living solutions.

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 18): UEM Sunrise Bhd has received development approval from the Western Australian State Government's central land and development agency, DevelopmentWA, for Lots 1 and 2 at The Oval within Subiaco East.

Planned over a 0.49ha site, this mixed-use residential project marks the first approval within the Subiaco East Masterplan, set to supporting local housing supply needs while embracing innovative living solutions.

This milestone enables UEM Sunrise to transform the lots into tiered heights of 36 and 26 storeys for Lot 1, and 11 storeys for Lot 2, achieving a high standard of urban design that reflects local heritage and lifestyle.

Offering a mix of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments, including townhouses, the development promotes intergenerational living with multi-family residences and diverse amenities.

“This project is not only about introducing our unique UEM Sunrise experience to Perth but also about supporting the local market by helping to fulfil pressing housing demands and creating a sustainable, inclusive community. Through this development, we are showcasing our expertise in innovation, quality and design excellence on a global stage,” said UEM Sunrise chief executive officer, Sufian Abdullah in a media release.

Set to target a 5-star Green Star rating under the new Green Star v1.0 standard, the development underscores UEM Sunrise’s commitment to sustainability.

Community oriented facilities, including infrastructure support for events at Heritage Gates park and storage for local football clubs at The Oval, along with 400 sq m ground-floor retail space in Lot 1, will enrich the Subiaco Oval precinct, further enhancing its appeal as a hub of connectivity and vibrant living.

This development is set to commence construction in 2026, offering a sustainable, community-centric living environment in Perth.
