Full Release: SEREMBAN, 28 January 2019 – The Seremban Half Marathon (SHM) together with Sunrise MCL Land Sdn Bhd, a joint venture development of UEM Sunrise Berhad and MCL Land Limited held a soft launch cum media conference for the Seremban Half Marathon with the tagline, “Every Mile is a Gift” which will take place on 7 July, 2019 in conjunction with its 32nd anniversary. The launch was graced by YAM Tunku Naquiyuddin ibni Tuanku Ja’afar, Tunku Laksamana Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus.
The launch which was held at the Sunrise MCL Land Sdn Bhd office was also attended by Kenny Wong Koon Keng, Director of Sunrise MCL Land Sdn Bhd, Azmy Mahbot, Teo Thian Eng, both whom are UEMS Development Committee Members and Amy Chua, Organising Chairman of SHM.
During the media conference, YAM Tunku Naquiyuddin said, “ For the first time after 31 years, the run will take place at Forest Heights, a 488 acres of boutique township, which is far from the jam-packed crowd yet close to the convenience of urban living which is an ideal venue to host the Run as it is only 5 minutes away from Seremban town, Sikamat, Ampangan, Rahang, Senawang, Rasah, Paroi and Seremban 2. We believe that that the prime location can accommodate a huge turn-out involving school participants and open event category runners which offers a more conducive and safer environment. We are expecting 10,000 participants to take part in this annual event”.
According to Kenny Wong Koon Keng, Director of Sunrise MCL Land Sdn Bhd, “Sunrise MCL Land has been participating as one of the sponsors of the annual event since 2008 and we are honored to host the Run as platinum sponsor for this year. In line with our vision of building happy sustainable communities, Sunrise MCL Land strongly supports charity events such as this and is pleased to engage in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities which would uplift the welfare of the community. It is a privilege for us to co-host and organise the Seremban Half Marathon, the biggest sporting event in Negeri Sembilan on a grand scale within our development”.
