UEM Sunrise Rewards its National Day Campaign and Green Programme Competitors

NUSAJAYA, Tuesday, 24 September 2013: UEM Sunrise Berhad (‘UEM Sunrise’) – formerly known as UEM Land Holdings Berhad, the master developer of Nusajaya, one of the five key nodes of Iskandar Malaysia, successfully organised the prize giving ceremony for its PINTAR students who participated in the “National Day Campaign” and “Green Programme” competitions, at Theatrette Hall, Bangunan Sultan Ismail, Kota Iskandar today.

The National Day Campaign’s Choral Speaking competition themed “Unity” is aimed to test the students’ competencies to orally interpret and recite a text from their memory. Initiated last month (August 2013), the choral speaking competition is a platform for students to learn, perform and enjoy.

The students are taught to speak clearly and audibly; improve in pitch, tone, volume, rate, diction, enunciation and build co-operation amongst each other. Being a group activity, choral speaking directs all students towards a common goal where each group has to work out their own interpretations and presentation of selections and vocabulary building by becoming familiar with a text through speaking it. The pupils will increase their repertoire of phrases and expressions with confidence.

The competition received a total of nine UEM Sunrise’s PINTAR schools entries (six primary schools and three secondary schools) from Gelang Patah. For primary school category, the champion will walk away with a cash prize of RM500 and a Certificate of Participation.
